Who is Giovani Tramontin?
Before I ever picked up a chisel, I picked up a saxophone. For over 20 years, I’ve lived the life of a working musician — the rehearsals, the stages, the endless search for a sound that feels truly yours. And through all of that, one question kept returning: Why should I sound like everyone else? That question led me to sculpting. Not manufacturing. Not artisanal production in the traditional Italian sense. Sculpting — the act of creating something that exists only once, for one person, with one voice. Every Tramontin mouthpiece is individually sculpted by my own hands, for one musician only. I don’t replicate models. I don’t run a production line. I listen to who you are as a player, what you want to express, and I shape a piece of art that carries your sonic identity. Because your sound is your signature. And a signature cannot be mass-produced.
🎷 A Musician First, A Sculptor Second
Founded in 2005, Tramontin was born from a simple conviction:
every saxophonist deserves an instrument that sounds like them — not like a catalog model. Over two decades, I’ve combined my experience as a performing saxophonist with the study of acoustics, materials science, and sculptural art to create mouthpieces that are as individual as the musicians who play them.
✋ One Piece. One Musician. One Artist.
There is no team. No factory. No production line. Every single Tramontin mouthpiece passes through my hands alone — from the first block of material to the final polish. I treat each piece like a sculptor treats marble: as a unique work of art that deserves individual attention, individual choices, and individual care.
💎 Materials That Shape Sound, Not Just Appearance
Carrara marble. Carbon. Quartz. Mica. Phosphorescent pigments that glow in the dark. I don’t choose materials for aesthetics — I choose them for their acoustic properties. The density of marble adds body and projection. Carbon brings brightness and agility. Quartz balances warmth and clarity. Every material changes how your instrument speaks.
🚫 Not Against Tradition. Against Uniformity.
In Italy, “craftsmanship” often means batch production — dozens of pieces made the same way, looking the same. I respect that tradition, but I choose a different path. My work is not about replicating excellence. It’s about creating something that has never existed before and will never exist again. For you.
🤝 A Relationship, Not a Transaction
When you commission a Tramontin mouthpiece, you’re not buying a product from a catalog. You’re entering a creative dialogue with someone who understands your musical journey because I’ve lived it too. I stay with you through the entire process — from the first conversation about your sound to the moment you put the mouthpiece to your lips and hear your voice for the first time.
