Description
Optimized for Conn 12M (145 cm³ Chamber XL)
Introducing a revolutionary custom baritone saxophone mouthpiece specifically engineered to solve the long-standing intonation challenges of the legendary Conn 12M and similar vintage or narrow-neck baritono saxophones.
The Conn 12M is renowned for its huge, dark tone, but its uniquely narrow neck (tudel) has always made it difficult to achieve stable, centered intonation with standard modern mouthpieces. Most commercial baritone mouthpieces are designed around wider, contemporary neck dimensions, resulting in flat high notes, sharp lows, and an overall unstable pitch center on the 12M.
This mouthpiece changes everything.
Built with a precisely calculated 145 cm³ chamber volume and a carefully scaled baffle/throat transition, it perfectly compensates for the Conn 12M’s narrower bore geometry. The result is:
- Spot-on intonation across the entire range (low Bb finally in tune without pulling the neck!)
- Effortless altissimo and subtone response
- Rich, massive core sound that retains the classic Conn 12M character
- Remarkably even resistance and projection
Thanks to the larger exterior dimensions required to accommodate the optimal internal volume, the mouthpiece fits perfectly on the Conn 12M cork while delivering the acoustic correction that standard-sized pieces simply cannot provide.
Extensive testing has also shown outstanding results on other baritone models (Yanagisawa, Yamaha, Keilwerth, etc.), making it one of the most versatile high-performance baritone mouthpieces available today.
Hand-finished with the highest attention to facing curve, tip rail, and chamber symmetry. Available in various tip openings upon request.
If you’ve been struggling to get your Conn 12M (or any baritone) perfectly in tune while keeping that huge, singing tone – this is the solution you’ve been waiting for.
